Monique, BA (Hons), DMS, is the former Deputy Director of Mainliners, a current member of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs and a founding Director of the UK Harm Reduction Alliance (UKHRA). She is an experienced project manager working in the field of drug use and sexual health for over 12 years.
In addition to managing HIV prevention, drug and outreach services, she has also organised a large range of national conferences, training events and multi-centre studies. These have including blood borne disease prevention, crack cocaine use, overdose response and first aid training for service users, carers and healthcare professionals.
Monique has been responsible for managing and delivering a number of Department of Health, National Treatment Agency and local Health Authority contracts. These have included the DH ‘Responding to a Drugs Overdose’ training for drug users successfully piloted within needle exchanges across England and the ‘Going Over’ video aimed at reducing drug related deaths.
Recent projects include working on the new Royal College of General Practitioners’ Guidance for Primary Care Staff working with people who use crack cocaine and an NTA consultancy looking at expanding User Involvement and regional user representation across England.
